Degree Structure

Admissions Requirements
 
  • To apply for an undergraduate course in a Chinese university, it is mandatory for the applicants to complete at least 12 years of formal education.
  • All transcripts should be certified by the Ministry of Education or the issuing institution where the applicant has studied.
  • Leaving certificate from the last college or school attended should be provided.
  • It is important to show proficiency in Chinese language by qualifying the HSK test at level 3 or above. Alternatively, the students can take the university’s entrance examination.
  • For all programs taught in English, providing sufficient evidence of English language expertise is another mandatory requirement. Applicants should submit recognized English proficiency test scores, such as TOEFL and IELTS.
  • Résumé or personal statement describing personal abilities, interests, educational background, future academic or career plans, reasons for choosing China as a study destination, and other related information
  • One or more letters of recommendation as a character reference
  • Bank’s solvency certificate
  • Photocopy of a valid passport
  • 5 copies of passport size photographs
  • Medical certificate
 
Application Procedure
 
  • The application process for finding the ideal university and course should begin at least one year in advance. Besides, you will need enough time to compile all necessary information and documentation.
  • Visit the university’s website and download the application form. As an alternate, you can send an email to the university requesting it to send you the application material or fill the application form online.
  • Based on the documents required by the university, attach all the necessary credentials with your application form.
  • Along with your application, you will also be required to attach the application fee, ranging from 380 Yuan to 770 Yuan, depending on the university and the course. Since universities in China accept the payment only in their local currency, pay the application fee in Yuan only at the foreign exchange.
  • Check with the university about the official application deadline. Send your application material before the last date. This is usually in the month of July for Fall semester intake and January for Spring semester intake, a year before the commencement of the course; however, dates can vary from university to university.
  • The universities require about six to eight months of time after the application deadline to process the applications received and announce the results.
 
Tuition Fees in Yuan
Tuition fees vary largely based on the program chosen, the university, and the duration of the course. Cost of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in China can range anywhere between 10,000 Yuan and 41,000 Yuan, on a yearly basis.
