MBA Programs in China

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, or its professional equivalent.

A full-time work experience of not less than two years is mandatory for candidates applying for an MBA program in a Chinese university.

Official university transcripts, indicating the courses taken, grades achieved, and degrees awarded should be presented.

Courses taught in Chinese require the applicant to provide HSK test score, with 5-8 level, to prove their Chinese language proficiency. English medium courses, however, do not require HSK results.

Non-English native students have to take the English language proficiency test, such as TOEFL or IELTS, to show expertise of the language. Applicants whose native language is English or those who have passed their academic degree in English need not provide the test scores.

GMAT is a standardized test used by business schools to evaluate the likely performance of students in the MBA program. Most B-schools accept a GMAT score of 400 to 600, with the average being 700. Take the test and submit the score card along with the application form.

At least two letters of recommendation from employers or professors at the last institution attended are requisite. Make sure that you choose people who know you very well as it will enhance your application.

As many as seven essays are required for applying to a business school in China, with a word limit ranging between 2000 and 4000 words. Personal essay serve as an opportunity to convince your prospective school that you are right candidate for the university.

Most business schools in China have two or three deadlines for receiving applications. As such, the earlier you apply, the higher are your chances of obtaining admission. By the time the third round is completed, most students are already accepted, thereby reducing your chances altogether.

You can fill and submit the application online on the university’s website. Application material can be requested from the university via an email or you can download a printable version of the application form and use it like any other regular form.

Collect all the documents and attach them with the application form, along with the application fee, ranging from 300 Yuan to 1000 Yuan, varying from university to university.
