Degree Recognition

Degree Structure
The MBA programs offered by B-schools of China span over a period of 18 to 24 months, drawing participants with an average work experience of 5-7 years. Different types of course programs are available for students traveling to China to pursue an MBA degree, namely, one-year full-time MBA, two-year full-time MBA, part-time MBA, dual degree MBA, and executive MBA. Spread over four semesters of study, two-year MBA program takes two academic years to complete. The first year comprises of core classes, while the second year allows the students to customize the coursework according to the career goals. Even though one-year MBA program is full-time, it follows certain strict requirements for providing admission, both in academic training and work history. This program lasts for 11 to 16 months.
Part-time MBA programs are designed for working professionals, lasting for 2 to 3 years, but can even take 5 years. Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends, so that the students can work during the day. Executive MBA programs are structured to meet the needs of upper level managers. At least 5 years of work experience is desired to undertake this program, which provides additional skills and new ideas to climb the ladder of success. All MBA courses undertaken in any Chinese university are a perfect amalgamation of Western and Chinese teaching styles, imparting management skills and business expertise to help the passing-out professionals expose themselves to new career opportunities.
Academic Calendar
The academic calendar of Chinese universities is organized into two semesters - Fall and Spring. While the Fall semester runs from mid-September to January or early February, the Spring semester begins in February or early March until mid-July. However, some schools admitting international students postpone their start date to end of September or mid-October, especially for courses like MBBS or engineering, taught in English.
Admissions Requirements

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, or its professional equivalent.

A full-time work experience of not less than two years is mandatory for candidates applying for an MBA program in a Chinese university.

Official university transcripts, indicating the courses taken, grades achieved, and degrees awarded should be presented.

Courses taught in Chinese require the applicant to provide HSK test score, with 5-8 level, to prove their Chinese language proficiency. English medium courses, however, do not require HSK results.

Non-English native students have to take the English language proficiency test, such as TOEFL or IELTS, to show expertise of the language. Applicants whose native language is English or those who have passed their academic degree in English need not provide the test scores.

GMAT is a standardized test used by business schools to evaluate the likely performance of students in the MBA program. Most B-schools accept a GMAT score of 400 to 600, with the average being 700. Take the test and submit the score card along with the application form.

At least two letters of recommendation from employers or professors at the last institution attended are requisite. Make sure that you choose people who know you very well as it will enhance your application.

Most business schools in China have two or three deadlines for receiving applications. As such, the earlier you apply, the higher are your chances of obtaining admission. By the time the third round is completed, most students are already accepted, thereby reducing your chances altogether.

You can fill and submit the application online on the university’s website. Application material can be requested from the university via an email or you can download a printable version of the application form and use it like any other regular form.
