Visa Not Required For Citizens From
Andorra, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Uruguay, United States of America, Venezuela.
 
Documents Required By Such Citizens
  • Citizens of the above mentioned countries can enter Mexico without a visa showing their passport and the “migration Form for Tourists, Transmigrates, Visiting Businesspersons, or Visiting Consultants”, which can be obtained from travel agencies and airlines.
  • Under special agreements with Canada and USA, citizens of these two countries may use passport or documents like birth certificate, voter registration card, Naturalization certificate and driver’s license to prove their identity.
 
For Citizens From Other Countries
Citizens of other countries need to apply for a student or tourist visa. Tourist visa are valid for 6 months whereas the validity of student visa is of one year. The following documents are required for such citizens.
  • Complete National Visa Application Form
  • 6 front-view and 5 profile photographs, 2"x2", with a white background.
  • A valid passport.
  • Candidates need to present the enrollment or letter of acceptance from the institution they plan to attend, determining level, grade, duration of the planned studies, and field of study.
  • Applicants need to show proof of their economic solvency and periodic and uninterrupted receipt of the sum of US$ 300.00 monthly, for the living expenses, during the study period.
  •  In case an applicant has been granted a scholarship for the study program, he/she needs to show appropriate documentation regarding it.
  • International students are required to show proof of medical/accidental insurance with international coverage. They can present written confirmation from insurance company of valid health/accidental insurance with full international coverage.
  • Medical statement showing good health and indicating that the candidate is free from any of illnesses is also required.
  • Visa processing fee.
  • If the applicant is a minor or below 18 years of age, he has to present a notarized authorization from both parents and a copy of his/her birth certificate showing parents names.
 
Time Required
Generally, visa can be issued in an average of 2 days and can take up to 3 weeks, depending on nationality of the applicant.
 
Cost Of A Visa
Cost of issuing a visa varies depending on nationality. It can be anywhere in between US$17 – $30.
 
Validity Period Of Visa
Student visas are generally valid for one year, whereas tourist visas and cards are valid for up to 6 months. Students, who are enrolling for course duration of six months, should obtain a tourist card instead of student visa.
