GMAT Test Centers
In the above description of GMAT test, a test center’s importance is quite obvious. After months of hard labour of a candidate, the process of taking up the test starts with, finding a nearest GMAT test center and ends when the score cards are sent to universities. Read the procedures and requirements, to be followed and met at GMAT test centers.
Procedure and Requirements at a GMAT Test Center
-
A GMAT candidate should find a nearest center to avoid late arrival at the scheduled appointment date.
-
The candidate is required to arrive at test center 30 min prior to the scheduled test time.
-
If the candidate is late to test center, more than 15 minutes he/she will not be allowed to take up the test.
-
Most of the candidates prefer to take up the test in their institutions. They have a liberty to select their institution provided that the institutions should fall under two important eligibility criteria. They are as follows:
-
The institute should offer one management program in the least as a minimum qualification
-
The institute should be located 40 kilometers away from the existing test center.
-
It is not a hard task to find a nearest test center because; it is conducted throughout the year across the globe. Also one of the points mentioned above, i.e. about the candidate’s early arrival to the test center, might lead you to think “What have I got to do at the test center, by arriving 30 min earlier to the scheduled test time?”The answer is quite simple. Before you take up the test you have to complete the check-in procedure. This process requires a valid Identification proof too, for you to get admitted to take up the test. Let’s go through the check- in procedure along with the requirements in detail.
-
You are required to carry a valid Identification proof to GMAT test center, where your appointment is scheduled. It’s advisable to carry three or four forms of ID proofs to be shown the test administrator. They are as follows:
-
Passport
-
Government-issued driver’s license
-
Government -issued National/State/Province ID card including an European ID card
-
Military ID card
-
-
After you enter the test center you will have to provide your palm vein pattern or finger prints digitally, along with your signature and photograph.
-
You will be asked to sign the terms and conditions once you enter the test center.
These are the reasons that require your, earlier presence prior to the scheduled test time, because it will take some time for you to get over with the check-in procedure. Apart from this part, you have to follow the dos and don’ts at a center.
- You will sit for the actual test in a separate computer workstation.
- You are not allowed to carry anything like notes, calculator, mobile phones, backpack, PDA (Personal Data Assistants), watches, note boards, pen, pagers etc.
-
The test administrator will provide you with a note board for rough work, pen and a pencil. Once your note board gets over, you have to request the administrator for the replacement. After you finish the test, your note boards must be left at your work station.
-
A locker is allotted for your personal belongings to be stored namely, backpack, mobile, PDA, books, notes, and many others.
You are required to follow the above mentioned “Dos and Don’ts” and adapt to the test environment, to take up the test with a clear mind.
There are some exceptional circumstances, where you might encounter some interruption during testing. Please go through the steps given below to tackle such problems if any.
-
When testing gets interrupted, due to any computer problem, you have to report it to the administrator immediately. You are not allowed to sort it out on your own.
-
You are not allowed to leave the testing room, unless if there is an emergency situation. Incase if there is an emergency, you should inform the test administrator, because all the sections in the test is timed. It is advised not to leave the test center very often, because the test timing would not be extended.
-
If there is a situation, when your testing gets interrupted due to complicated technical issues which could not be fixed at that point of time, it will be reported by the administrator.
-
After the concern organization finds out that, no malpractice is involved you will be allowed to reschedule at free of cost.
