  • Like elsewhere, living in towns is cheaper than cities in France. Accommodation costs in towns, particularly private lodgings, vary from € 300 to € 600 per month. If you are living in university residence halls, you may have to pay € 100 to € 150 per month.
  • Food, transportation and pocket money would cost you anywhere around € 350 to € 500 per month.
 
Insurance Cost
Every international student is required to have a medical insurance. Medical insurance in France can cost you approximately € 130 to € 700 per year depending on the student's age.
 
Cost of Learning French
Knowledge of French is very important to study in France. You have to pay approximately € 350 per month for language training in France. Hence, it is advisable to learn French from recognized learning centers in your respective countries before leaving for France.
 
Evidence of Funds
To receive student visa, you need to produce following evidences of funds.
  • If there is someone living in France, who is sponsoring your education, you need to show signed statement of responsibility, a photocopy of the identity card of the sponsor, and evidence of sufficient means to provide the promised support.
  • If a student is managing financial support from abroad, he/she has to produce an evidence of the opening of a bank account into which the necessary funds will be deposited and a written commitment from his/her sponsor.
  • If a student is receiving financial support from the student's home government, he/she need to produce a letter from government regarding the funding.
  • In case if the financial assistance provided to you comes under aid programmes operated in France by a government agency, you have to show the scholarship certificate.
  • Some of evidences of funds that you can use are cash, traveler's cheque, bank drafts or a recognized credit card.
