Admission Tests
  • About the same time around managing the applications, it is advisable for students to register for all the required admission tests that are needed to get admission into Australian universities.
  • First and foremost, since Australia is an English speaking country, students must possess good English language skills and for that purpose are required to take an IELTS exam, which is the only English proficiency exam accepted by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
  • Some universities may waive the IELTS exam if the student can obtain a letter from the institution that the student has last studied in; mentioning that the student has been studying in English medium throughout and that the institution is satisfied with the proficiency of the student in English.
  • If students want to pursue post graduation through an MBA program in Australian universities or B-schools, they need to take the Graduate Management Admission Exam (GMAT), which although is not mandatory but is required to take admission in few universities or colleges.

Application Requirements
  • Students who want to apply for a bachelor’s degree program or any other undergraduate program in Australia are required to submit their secondary and higher secondary report or certificate along with the transcripts (mark sheets or report cards) of the final exams.
  • Since different countries have different grading systems; students can ask their school authorities to convert the marks obtained in accordance with Australia’s grading system.
  • If the transcripts and other relevant documents are not in English, they must be translated in English and should be bundled with the certified copies of the originals (certified by a person or agency recognized by the law or government of that country).
  • Scorecards of the IELTS exams and GMAT exam (in case the student is applying for an MBA course) must be provided. The minimum scores in IELTS and GMAT exam may vary from university to university or from college to college. Consult the university/college eligibility requirements for the course.
